Brightly colored foliage and varied foliage shapes makes coleus a standout variety in the landscape. Coleus is actually a tender perennial in the mint family that can be brought indoors in the winter, or grown as a houseplant. Use in underplantings, borders, or containers.

Plant in well drained soil. Water regularly. Keep soil surface moist but not soggy. Fertilize once or twice a week. Small, insignificant blooms will appear in late summer. Pinch off blooms to encourage vegetative growth.
